Rustic Barn USA
A barn first constructed in 1780 lies dismantled in a yard in the US waiting export to NZ for reassembly as a new home. Note the huge size of the hand hewn timbers and the marriage marks etched on the frame when new, only 230 years ago. The marks were to ensure it was assembled in the correct way. When re erected the frame will expressed internally and given a new weather shell. At 5m to the eaves it will produce a dramatic space. One third of the footprint is to have a mezzanine floor for the master bedroom and ensuite.
