OTHER SERVICES

BUILDING CONSERVATION

As NZ’s building stock grows older there is an increasing awareness that some older buildings have value not only as buildings but also as cultural artifacts. They were built for reasons that often no longer exist and are therefore important in helping to understand how NZ has come to be what it is today as well as being valuable assets.

Bruce is one of a few people that The New Zealand Historic Places Trust will accept a proposals from for a building with a NZHPT classification.

This in depth understanding of NZ’s architectural history means we also treat the conversion of older buildings eg villas and bungalows, with the greatest sympathy and produce a better result.

HOUSE INSPECTION

Inspection of houses for sale or purchase, leaks, structural issues or any other purpose you may require.

SITE EVALUATION

As a service separate from design we will evaluate a sites potential. This involves not only the sites physical potential, such as sun angles, slope and stability but also the implication of any local authority restrictions on proposed uses.

We are happy to discuss any building project and if we can’t do it will be happy to suggest alternatives.

  • Winter has officially ended and we are now hoping the weather gods have taken notice. Despite the (self induced) gloom in some sections of the economy and construction in particular, there appears to be no slackening in the demand for our services. Clevedon is set to explode with Watercare signing up to have sewerage ready by April 2020. Clevedon Cares, a local intuitive, with aims to develop Clevedon in a stylish way along the lines of Matakana and Hobsonville, have done great work establishing design guidelines for buildings and putting bridal/ walking and cycling paths around the township. We are set for an exciting 2019, 2020 and beyond.
